∞MY SPIRITUAL JOURNEYI am honored to serve as the Founder and Spiritual Director of CSLPA.
Like all paths, mine was a winding and varied one as I pursued my highest and best self to arrive here. My spiritual journey started when I was young: I became involved in children's theatre at the age of eleven, enabling me to take my inner confidence and learn how to express it to the outer world. I continued this dream as a drama teacher for the Fullerton School District in California, and later in Missouri where I became the Director of Performances for Young Audiences of St. Louis. I became a Licensed Practitioner (Spiritual Counselor) there in 2001. In 2002 I married a long-time friend and love and moved back to my old stomping grounds in Southern California. I picked up where I left off teaching in Fullerton and became very active at the Center for Spiritual Living Newport Mesa. In 2007 life shifted again when I received another nudge from Spirit to be a primary caregiver. My husband and I moved to San Diego to care for his mother and grandmother until their passing. It was there we discovered Universal Spirit Center in the Hillcrest neighborhood, where I again dove into my own spiritual growth and became deeply involved in the daily life of the Center. After a number of years as a Practitioner and Education Director, I became a Staff Minister there for a year and a half after graduation from Ministerial School, loving being a part of the community and growing in my ministry. I finally heeded the deepest calling of my True Self in 2010 and entered the Holmes Institute, an accredited program for a Master's Degree in Consciousness Studies, where I graduated May 2014. In August 2014 I officially became ordained in the summer of 2017. I continue to dive more deeply into my ministerial life and professional practitioner work, creating new programs and classes, teaching wherever I go, and being the presence of Light and Joy in whatever I'm engaged in. I'm working more on “being” these days, and the “doing-ness” happens naturally from that space. In March of 2015 my husband and I discovered Port Angeles and fell in love. We knew we had found our new place, and my very long-term Vision of creating a spiritual center, co-housing community and other facets of a space for people to come together began to take form. We are excited for the next steps on this never-ending spiritual journey, joined by those who want to be a part of it, or are just curious what we’re about. All are welcome! In Gratitude, Rev. Asha |
